Carol graduated from Staffordshire University with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science in 1993 and went on to work within the fitness industry including working as a senior fitness consultant with BUPA, a personal trainer and an athletics coach. However after suffering through injury herself and watching others struggle with injuries she became very interested in injury and rehabilitation and from there began training as an Osteopath.
Carol graduated in July 2018 with an honour’s degree in Osteopathy and is now registered with the General Osteopathic Council of Great Britain
Although Carol has a good grounding in sports and biomechanics, she treats far more than just sports injuries including issues associated with occupational strain, poor posture, whip lash, back pain, arthritis and headaches. However her specialisms are in treating shoulders having completed her dissertation on shoulder impingement and she is a certified running injury specialist after undergoing further training with “The Running Clinic” a research based manual therapy training clinic approved by the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
Carol uses a wide range of osteopathic manual techniques and is happy to adapt to improve patient comfort and preferences.
Outside of work Carol is a keen runner and running coach, orienteer (good at getting lost!) and horse rider.
