I am an experienced Western Medical Herbalist registered with the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) and the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy (CPP) . After achieving a degree in Medical Science from the University of Birmingham Medical School, I completed a degree in Western Herbal Medicine from the University of East London.
With my background in Medical Science and wide experience of Herbal Medicine, I use my knowledge to offer an integrated approach for my patients, to help optimise benefit from treatment.
I joined The Broad St Practice in October 2014 and have over 15 years clinical experience.
During my Herbal degree, I was awarded the Pharmacology prize for excellent understanding of the action and effects of both conventional and herbal medicines. My previous research interests include looking at the interaction of Vitamin D and the immune system and the properties of Milk Thistle preparations; a herb that has a long traditional use for its protective effect on the liver.
I regularly deliver talks on ‘Herbal Medicine’, ‘Optimising Sleep’ and ‘Herbal Medicine & The Menopause’. I am a member of council for the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy & for the European Herbal & Traditional Practitioners Association, setting quality and standards in Herbal Medicine.
I became interested in Herbal Medicine after both my Grandmothers turned to it, having exhausted the conventional route without relief. In both cases, after a number of week’s treatment with herbal medicine, their chronic problems were cured and their quality of life hugely improved as a result.
